What to expect
Setup, run,
and take-down.
No guesswork on the day. Here is exactly how DIY runs, from the moment we arrive to the moment we leave.
-
Before · Setup
We arrive about 30 minutes before your event to set up the iPad booth and ring light and make sure everything is working properly.
-
During · Your event
Because the DIY booth is self-serve, we do not stay. It is set it and forget it. A handle on the back tilts the booth up or down so it catches the little ones and the tall guests, and your guests run it themselves all event with nothing for you to manage.
-
After · Take-down
We come back right as your event is ending to take it down. Take-down usually takes about 10 to 15 minutes.

DIY questions
Stuff people
ask about DIY.
-
01 Does someone have to watch the iPad?
Nope. The DIY booth is self-serve. We set it up and pick it up later.
-
02 Can we still get prints with DIY?
Yes. Add the Print add-on to DIY for $300+. You get real 2x6 photo strips printed on the spot. The Glam booth has better photo quality if prints are the priority, but DIY + Print is a great budget combo.
-
03 What if the iPad runs out of battery?
It plugs into the wall. We also bring a backup battery for outdoor events.
-
04 How much space does the DIY booth need?
About 8 by 8 feet, with around 6 feet of clearance for the backdrop area. It's the smallest footprint of any booth we rent, which is why it fits office parties and living rooms.
-
05 Is the DIY booth good enough for a wedding?
We've run DIY booths at Utah wedding receptions and the guests loved them. The honest answer: if photo quality is the priority, the Glam booth wins. If you want a booth without the attendant cost, DIY does the job, and DIY plus the Print add-on still sends guests home with real strips.
-
06 How do guests get their photos?
The iPad texts or emails each photo straight to the guest the moment it's taken. After the event, you also get a digital gallery with everything from the night.
