Audio Guestbook A closer look
How it works
Three
simple steps.
You record a greeting. Guests leave their messages. You keep every one, forever.
-
01 · You record a greeting
Set your greeting.
First you record a short greeting, just like setting up the voicemail on your phone. It is the first thing guests hear when they pick up.
-
02 · Guests record
Pick up. Talk. Hang up.
Your guests lift the receiver, hear your greeting, and leave a message up to 90 seconds. Nothing for them to figure out.
-
03 · We deliver
Files and transcripts, yours.
Within a week we send every message as an MP3, plus transcripts on request, so you keep them forever. Many families turn the transcripts into Shutterfly books, and we are happy to help you make one.
What to expect
Setup, run,
and take-down.
The phone is the easiest thing at your event. Here is exactly how it runs from setup to take-down.
-
Before · Setup
We arrive about 30 minutes before your event, place the phone on a table or stand, set up your custom greeting, and test that everything is working properly.
-
During · Your event
The phone is self-serve, so we do not stay. Guests pick up and leave a message whenever they like, all on their own. Nothing for you to run.
-
After · Take-down
We come back near the end of your event to collect the phone. Take-down takes about 10 minutes, and every recording comes to you within a week.
What guests record
Messages sound
like this.
These four are examples we wrote to show the idea. The real ones are private, and honestly, better.
"I knew you were gonna marry her the second she made you laugh on the floor at Trader Joe's."
"Mija, eres la luz de mi vida. Que Dios te bendiga siempre."
"I can't believe you're 50. You still look 27, that's the truth and I'm not even drunk yet."
"Boss, your retirement was earned. We'll miss you. Now please call IT and turn in your laptop."

Audio guestbook FAQ
Stuff people
ask about the phone.
-
01 What exactly is an audio guestbook?
It's an old-school telephone, modified inside. Guests pick up the receiver, hear a custom prompt (your voice if you want), and leave a voicemail-style message. We capture every recording and send them all to you after the event in one neat folder.
-
02 How is this different from a regular guestbook?
A paper guestbook just gets signatures. People write 'Congrats!' and move on. The audio guestbook saves real voices: laughter, jokes, and your grandfather's advice. You play it back years later and hear them again.
-
03 Can guests get drunk and ramble forever?
We cap each recording at 90 seconds by default (you can change it). The funniest messages are usually short. And if your uncle goes long, that is part of the fun too.
-
04 Can I customize the prompt my guests hear?
Yes. We can record your voice, the host's voice, your grandma's voice, whoever's. Or stick with our default warm script. It's the first thing guests hear, so it sets the tone.
-
05 Does it need wifi or power?
Power, yes, a regular outlet within 25 feet. Wifi, no. The phone runs on local storage and we collect the recordings after the event.
-
06 What do I get afterward?
You get every recording as an MP3 in a shared folder, in the order they came in. For a small extra fee, we can also make a highlights reel: we pick the best 8 to 12 messages, clean them up, and send them as one audio file you can share.
-
07 Can we add this to another booth booking?
Yes. Most weddings book the audio guestbook alongside a Glam booth (often with the Print add-on). It runs in a quiet corner and complements the photos perfectly.
-
08 Can we rent the audio guestbook for a funeral or celebration of life?
Yes, and it's one of the most meaningful ways to use it. The phone sits on a quiet side table, the prompt invites guests to share a favorite memory of your person, and the family keeps every voice. We can also set up a photo sharing station and design a printed memory book afterward. See our celebrations of life page for how we handle these days.
